Summer 2021 Funding Opportunity

Online | Ron Brown Center & Prep Program | COVID-19 remote


The Ronald H. Brown Center for Civil Rights at St. John's University School of Law is providing a funding opportunity for students who will be working this summer in an unpaid legal position. The position must be full-time for a minimum of 6 weeks. The stipend will be $4,000.

You must submit this application form and upload the following required documents by the deadlineApril 15th, 2021. Applications will be considered on a rolling basis.

  • Resume 
  • Transcript: You MUST initially submit an Unofficial Transcript in the application form. We may request an official transcript to be sent to us.
  • Offer Email: Please provide a copy of the email for the unpaid legal position.
  • Brief Statement: Please tell us how this position advances civil rights and serves the community.
  • Reference List: Include contact information - Name, Title, Relationship, Phone Number, Email Address. At least one reference must be a St. John's Law professor. They should be able to speak to your academic capabilities. Note that you do not need a letter of recommendation.
