St. John's University School of Law is one of the host law schools for the 2021 Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) Prelaw Undergraduate Scholars (PLUS) Program ("LSAC PLUS Online"). This is a virtual program hosted by St. John's Law's Ronald H. Brown Prep Program and is designed for college students from diverse backgrounds who will have a minimum of 2 years of credits until they complete a 4-year bachelor's degree by the end of May 2021.

You must submit this application form and upload the following required documents by the deadline, which is now extended. 

Priority Deadline: March 1st, 2021.

Final Deadline: March 15th, 2021.

  • Resume (maximum 2 pages): Please attach a résumé that includes any scholastic honors and awards that you have received. Also highlight significant work experience plus extracurricular and community activities in which you have been involved.
  • Upload Unofficial Transcript & Request Official Transcript if Accepted: You MUST initially submit an Unofficial Transcript in the application form. You must follow instructions below for how to request an official transcript to be sent to us only if you are accepted. You will be responsible for any fees, unless you have economic pressure. If you have any trouble securing your official transcript, please write to us immediately at ronbrowncenter@stjohns.edu
  • Personal Statement (2-4 typed pages): Please tell us about yourself, your interest in the law, and any cultural, economic, physical or educational disadvantage that you (or your immediate family) have overcome.
  • 1 Letter of Recommendation - another letter is encouraged but not required: You only need to submit one letter of recommendation, the second letter is optional. Preferably at least one from a faculty member. Should be able to speak to your academic capabilities. Please have your recommender email the LOR to us by the deadline at ronbrowncenter@stjohns.edu
  • Headshot: Please submit a headshot photo. This can be a professional headshot no more than one year old or a photograph you have taken yourself. If you do not have a digital/scanned copy of a professional headshot (such as ones taken for school administration/faculty or for graduation photos without the cap and gown, or as shown linked here in our digital brochure), then you may take the photo yourself following the guidelines linked here. These guidelines are the same ones that law school applicants will need to follow for their LSAT Admission Ticket. 

***Please upload all materials in PDF format (or HEIC/PNG/JPEG for photos) in this application. Label each file with your name and the type of document in the following format: Last Name, First Name - Document Type. (e.g., Smith, John - Resume).***

***You are required to submit a Headshot photo (see above guidelines).***

***Note: If Accepted, you will be required to submit the Prep Program Rules and a Content/Photo Release Form (the main purpose of this form is to grant us permission to take photos/videos of you during the program for social media and future promotional activities). If possible, we prefer that you print it out to physically sign and date it, and upload a scanned copy. See more instructions below regarding scanning/printing and digital signatures.

***If you do not have a scanner, you may take a photo. If you do not have a printer, the forms are converted to fillable PDFs to allow for a digital signature. Note about digital signatures: there is the option for a standard text signature that Adobe configures with the date and time and statement "Digitally signed by", or it can be drawn or you can insert an image of your signature.***

***Official Transcript Request: Upon receiving a 'Grade Release Authorization' form from us, please fill it out and send the form to your college's Registrar's Office so they can send us your official college transcript. PLEASE BE SURE THAT YOUR COLLEGE EMAILS YOUR TRANSCRIPT TO US.***
